Sushmita Kadam is an experienced Member Of Technical Staff currently working at NetApp. She has a demonstrated history of working in the product/services industry and research institute. Sushmita is skilled in Python, Angular 8, HTML, CSS, Matlab, C, and Java. She is keenly interested in research and software development. At NetApp, Sushmita is a part of the Engineering team and is involved in bug fixing in XCP (NFS, SMB, File Analytics), applying security fixes, and feature development. She has contributed to HTML & CSV reporting in XCP SMB, exclude filter in XCP NFS, and live source migration support in XCP NFS. She has also reported stat summary when the source is live. Previously, Sushmita worked as an Intern at NetApp where she designed and developed the UI for XCP File Analytics, built REST APIs for retrieving the top space owners, space occupied by these owners, accessed time data of files/directories, and hot/cold data of a file share in XCP SMB. She introduced an option '-preserve-atime' in XCP scan command in XCP SMB to get the accessed time data for all the files/dirs of a file share and introduced an option '-ownership' in xcp scan command in XCP SMB to get the top space owner names and space occupied by the top owners of a file share. She developed a shell script for the installation of XCP file Analytics and secure configuration of Apache web server. XCP File Analytics was first released on 8th April 2020 as public preview. It is a free software provided to NetApp customers that provides insights into the file servers quickly by running a scan on NFS or SMB exports. Before joining NetApp, Sushmita worked as a Project Assistant II at the National Institute of Oceanography where she developed software for Automatic Velocity picking for mapping of gas hydrates under the guidance of Senior Scientist Dr. Pawan Dewangan and Chief Scientist Dr. Ramprasad Tammisetti. She visualized data using MATLAB, filtered noisy data, and wrote test scripts using shell scripts. She participated in seismic data collection in Arabian sea on RV Sindhu Sadhana. The developed software for automatic velocity picking and other tools and software were useful in the discovery of active cold seeps in KG Basin in the expedition carried out in February 2018.
